Q: What credit cards can be accepted on my Mobilescape terminal?
A: MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. Back Top
Q: How does my Mobilescape terminal batch out daily transactions?
A: Your Mobilescape terminal automatically batches to your processor at the end of every day. All transactions will be processed as long as they are not pending. The terminal does not have to be plugged in or turned on for the auto batch to occur. Back Top
Q: How often are credit card funds uploaded to my processor?
A: Your Mobilescape account is automatically batched every 24 hours.
- For MasterCard and Visa charges, you’ll receive deposits within 2 to 3 business days.
- For American Express and Discover, you’ll receive deposits within 72 hours.

Q: How often are check funds deposited into my account?
A: Check payments are usually credited to your account within 2 business days. Back Top
Q: Can I accept payments if I don’t have my Mobilescape terminal with me?
A: We offer Net Terminal, our secure website where you can enter your transactions if you don’t have a Mobilescape terminal on hand to accept orders. All your transactions can be completed from any computer with an Internet connection. Since these are “card not present” transactions, there is a downgrade surcharge when you use Net Terminal. Q: What is the warranty on Mobilescape terminals?
A: Commerciant warrants a Mobilescape terminal purchased from Commerciant, or from an authorized Commerciant reseller, against defects in materials or workmanship under normal usage for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. Your sales receipt, showing the date of purchase is your proof of purchase date and is required to make a warranty claim. Back Top
Q: Can I buy next-day replacement coverage to protect my Mobilescape terminal?
A: Yes. Commerciant offers a next-day replacement program. If for any reason the Mobilescape terminal fails and is under our next-day replacement agreement, we’ll ship you a replacement unit the next day at no charge. You simply return the nonworking unit to us with the shipping document we’ll provide to you. Back Top
Q: Do I keep a customer’s check after I’ve processed it?
A: Depending on which icon is selected from the options screen will determine whether or not you keep a customer's check.
- When selecting "conversion" and swiping the check, the check can be returned to the customer (who can keep it or void and destroy it). You don’t have to keep and file the check because the funds have been electronically converted and our secure website automatically stores all transaction data.
- When selecting "verification" and swiping the check, you will need to keep the customer's check and manually deposit it at the bank.

Q: Where can I find a user guide for my Mobilescape terminal?
A: The Mobilescape user guides can be found on the support page under the collateral section. If you cannot download or read PDF forms, contact 1-866-414-5600 or e-mail support@commerciant.com to request a paper copy. Q: Where can I use my Mobilescape terminal?
A: The Mobilescape can be used in any location that has cellular phone coverage on the Sprint Nextel network. Click here to validate coverage in your area. Back Top
Q: What happens if I cannot get a wireless signal?
A: The Mobilescape terminal can perform an offline transaction. The receipt is still printed and the transaction is stored in the terminal. Later, when the Mobilescape re-enters a coverage area, it will automatically transmit any stored transactions. Back Top
Q: How many transactions can the terminal store?
A: The Mobilescape terminal can store up to 300 transactions before it must transmit pending transactions. Back Top
Q: What if my Mobilescape terminal doesn’t work? What kind of support can I expect?
A: To initiate a support request, call the toll-free Mobilescape Helpline at 1-866-414-5600. If your call is received during the business hours of 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. CT, a Commerciant support team member will answer your questions or assist you in diagnosing the issue you are experiencing with your terminal. However, if you contact the helpline after 5:00 p.m. CT an after hours support member will log your question/issue and forward it to an on call technical support member who will return your phone call.

Q: What’s the difference between the Mobilescape 3000 and the Mobilescape 5000?
A: The Mobilescape 3000 series is designed for credit card use only. For businesses that need the flexibility of accepting payments by credit card and check, Commerciant offers the Mobilescape 5000, the market’s first wireless, handheld payment processing solution to accept both. Back Top
Q: Can I swipe credit cards and checks in either direction? Which way does the credit card stripe face?
A: All checks and credit cards should be swiped from the right to the left. Icons are clearly printed on the Mobilescape unit to indicate the proper direction.
When swiping credit cards, the stripe should face down and away from you. Checks should face you so that you can read the name and address in the upper left-hand corner. Back Top
Q: Can I manually key in a check or credit card?
A: Yes. Keep in mind that there is a downgrade surcharge for a “key entered” transaction when the credit card number is manually entered. Back Top
Q: How do I change the number of receipts that my Mobilescape will print per transaction?
A: Using the stylus, select the Tools icon found on the main screen, then select the Printer icon. Using the up and down arrows found on the printer screen, adjust the number of receipts that will print. Back Top

Q: Do I have to keep track of the signed receipts?
A: No. All signatures are electronically captured and stored on our website. Back Top
Q: Can I review my transactions online?
A: Yes. Visit www.commerciant.com and go to the Customer Login link. You’ll need your User ID and Secure Password that you received when the unit was shipped. With our Mobilescape Manager website, you will have full access to view transaction records seconds after they are processed. Back Top
Q: How do I manage my Commerciant account?
A: Our service includes a secure website where you can login to view a variety of reports. You can download transaction details in Excel format and import the data to popular accounting software. Back Top

Q: Is it secure to perform credit card and check transactions using wireless technology?
A: Yes. We use the highest security possible. Since the Mobilescape is designed and built specifically for financial transactions, your data is secure during all steps of the transaction. Other providers will use general purpose equipment that isn’t as secure as ours—equipment that can be easily modified to capture sensitive information without the merchant knowing. This isn’t possible with the Mobilescape, because it’s specially designed to execute financial transactions securely. Back Top |
