Commerciant Customer Applebee's Awarded QUALCOMM A-List Award for
Business Innovation

HOUSTON, Texas - September 28, 2005 -Commerciant, a leader in the wireless payments processing industry, today announced that its customer, Applebee’s®, has been recognized by QUALCOMM for being a technology leader, and was presented with their prestigious 3G A-List award in the Business Innovation category. The 3G A-List awards honor the most innovative wireless data deployments based on 3G CDMA2000® technology. QUALCOMM, the world’s leader in wireless CDMA technologies, announced the awards at CTIA Wireless I.T. ® & Entertainment 2005 in San Francisco, CA. Applebee’s established itself in this category by deploying Commerciant’s Mobilescape wireless payment processing solution in order to enhance their highly successful Carside to Go program.

According to Mike Czinege, Applebee’s SVP/CIO, “The results have been dramatic. Applebee’s has saved about 40% of the transaction time for credit card purchases.” He adds, “People love the convenience of the wireless handhelds. Commerciant has deployed its Mobilescape terminals at most of Applebee’s corporate-owned stores, and have reported great satisfaction with the solution. “It has been a huge win for us,” says Mike Czinege. There are over 1,700 Applebee’s locations in the US.
