Lots of changes are happening at Commerciant at the start of the new year, so be sure to read on to find out about all our latest news.
Also, don’t forget that even though we are in the busy holiday season, there has never been a better time to sell payment solutions. Many of our target customers such as residential service contractors are seasonal. In the summer, they’re preoccupied with customer calls, but they’re a little slower now and can focus on business improvements like the Mobilescape. Don’t forget that many of these target customers do not have an existing payment solution and many times are paying 3% or more for their credit card processing. At those rates, Mobilescape pays for itself within months.

NEW Online Merchant Setup Packet

Starting January 1st, all Mobilescape orders can be placed using our new Online Merchant Setup Packet located in the ISO/Agent Resource Center. It is very easy to use and will calculate your order’s total and shipping/handling charges based on criteria you provide.
To access the Online Merchant Setup Packet, click on the link found under Forms & Documents, and a window will open containing our standard three part form (Equipment Order Form, Deployment Form, and Wireless Agreement). Each individual form can be accessed by clicking on the form titles found at the top of the page. After you have filled out the forms online, select the print button located at the bottom of each page and fax the complete set to 713-735-5503 as usual.

Many of you are currently using previous versions of the merchant setup packet, which are missing key pieces of information that we need to create your merchant’s account. Please either use the online versions or print out blank copies and complete them by hand. If you do not complete the forms online, use the shipping/handling calculator to manually calculate the additional charges. Be sure to print the completed calculator, circle your selected delivery method and include it in the packet of information faxed to Commerciant. |

NEW Changes to Shipping/Handling Charges |
|
|
Beginning January 1st, we are making some changes to our shipping and handling charges. Rather than charging on a per-box basis, we’ve calculated shipping and handling fees based on weight, distance (DHL zone) and speed of delivery. Depending on the options you choose, the new rates will save you money in many cases.
When filling out the online merchant setup packet, a few key pieces of information must be entered so that your shipping/handling charge is correctly calculated.

• Include the shipping zip code for your order |

• Indicate whether you are shipping to a residential
address |

• If you are placing an order on Friday, be sure
to indicate if you would like Saturday delivery (As a
reminder, shipping companies will add a surcharge for this service.) |

• Include the price and quantities of each item you are ordering |
Once you’ve entered in the above information, the appropriate shipping/handling charges will be calculated for your order. All that is left for you to do is select which delivery method you would like. A separate shipping/handling calculator will be available in the ISO/Agent Resource Center if you want to calculate an exact shipping charge for your order.
If you would prefer to use your own shipping account or pick up your order at Commerciant, please provide us with all the necessary information in the space provided at the bottom of the Equipment Order Form. Beginning January 1st, a small handling fee will be added for all 3rd party shipping and local pickup orders. This minimal fee will cover the use of Commerciant’s shipping supplies and the additional time it takes for our operations department to prepare your shipment for a different carrier. |

NEW Mobilescape Online Training |

Commerciant is excited to announce the addition of our Mobilescape Online Training web page. In an effort to help you better train your merchants, we've created wireless check and credit card processing training modules and have also posted video clips and tips on how to swipe a check.

Don't forget that we host a weekly Mobilescape training call for ISOs every Friday at 1:00 pm CST. (call details can be found in the ISO/Agent Resource Center)

NEW Merchant Training |

• Why Sell Wireless? |

Here are some points to highlight for a merchant when it comes to selling wireless:

Wireless fees are much cheaper than you think. With the Mobilescape, there is a monthly wireless fee, but it is quickly offset by lower processing rates. Also, the number of downgraded credit card transactions are reduced since the credit card is swiped instead of key entered. |
