Timothy D. Davis
Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer
Davis joined Commerciant in 2004, bringing more than 30 years of executive leadership experience driving high-growth companies. Davis founded a third-party claims administration firm, serving as its president for five years, until it was acquired by Hospital Corporation of America (NYSE: HCA). He later formed a group to purchase a dental HMO operating throughout Texas that was expanded and sold to Protective Life Insurance, a subsidiary of Protective Life Corporation (NYSE: PL). An
employee benefits brokerage and consulting firm that Davis founded and built was acquired by USI Insurance Services, Inc., a subsidiary of USI Holdings Corporation (NasdaqNM: USIH) in 1997 after 10 years of operation. Davis also has made private equity investments in several industries during the past 10 years. He received his B.B.A. in finance from The University of Texas at Austin.
Richard A. Howell, Chief Operating Officer
Howell joined Commerciant in early 2006. As COO, he is responsible for all customer-facing functions of the company. He has 16 years of experience in the high technology field, starting his career as a systems engineer at EDS and following with four years in consumer product marketing at Texas Instruments. Howell joined his first software startup in 1996, and over the next ten years led marketing operations and communications functions at a number of Silicon Valley-based companies, including Broadbase Software (KANA), which went public in 1999. Prior to Commerciant, Howell was in charge of marketing at Captara, an enterprise lease management software company based in San Francisco. Howell holds an MBA from The Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BA in Psychology and German from Baylor University.
Corey Coffman, Vice President, Engineering
Coffman was appointed engineering manager and chief architect of Commerciant in July, 2007. He joined Commerciant in 2005 as lead developer responsible for managing the support databases related to Commerciant’s payment processing solution and the company’s web-based analytic program, Mobilescape Manager. Coffman has 15 years of technology experience, starting his career at Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium and has held technical and management positions at Johnson Controls and Stewart & Stevenson. He holds a number of Microsoft certifications, including MCSA; MCSE; MCDBA; MCAD; and MCSD for .NET.
Terry Crane, Vice President, Business Development
Crane joined Commerciant in June 2006 with more than 15 years of experience developing sales organizations for payment processing companies. Crane spent more than ten years at First Data Corporation, where he held a number of sales positions of increasing responsibility, including district manager of TeleCheck, Inc. and director at Shared Global Systems, a provider of risk management and automated payment processing solutions. He was most recently the executive vice president of sales and marketing at InterTrans, a secure, real-time gateway interface for on and off-line ACH processing throughout the United States and Canada. Crane attended Minnesota State University-Mankato, where he majored in business and economics.
Marc Beauchamp, Vice President, Indirect Sales
A recognized industry expert, Beauchamp brings several years of merchant services sector experience to Commerciant. He has built several successful bankcard organizations, managing more than 100 sales people, with sales offices in all major U.S. markets. After the sale of his company in 2001, he launched a bankcard consulting firm. Beauchamp has worked with some of the largest independent sales offices (ISOs) in the industry and has trained more than 3,000 bankcard sales representatives across the country (www.bankcard101.com). A sought-after speaker, consultant, and trainer, Beauchamp is the author of How to Survive and Thrive in the Merchant Services Industry (www.surviveandthrive.biz), which has become an industry best-seller. Beauchamp writes a monthly column for Transaction World Magazine, the premier bankcard industry trade journal, and is a guest columnist for Intel-Card News, which targets the prepaid card industry. He also publishes a monthly newsletter for financial services professionals.
